Joe,

It is pretty here and the great thing is that over the years I have been able to map out various routes with the same types of roads, but with varying lengths ranging from 10 to 200 miles. So, no matter how much (OR little) time I have, I have great roads to drive. The route shown above is my favorite of them all...I used to run it on my "lunch hour"...A great stress breaker.

Terry, we are about 4 hours away from you via, I-85,we should try to meet somewhere in the middle.BTW, there is ,or was, a gentleman in Gainsville with a 2003 Beck, perhaps you've met?I am reluctant to post his name as he does not post either here or on Spyder Club. He was kind enough to drive to Westpoint,Ga. to let me see and drive his car before I closed the deal on my Beck. I have not heard from him in quite a while, hope he is doing well[he retired last year and ,I believe has been travelling]Anyway, e-mail me if you are interested: smokey@entercomp.com .
Nick,

I think the gentleman from Gainesville sold his Beck. At least one person in Gainesville sold a Beck about 1 1/2 years ago.

As for the flat spot, it's still there. I have been so busy lately that when I have spare time, I choose to drive the car rather than work on it, so I just put up with it for now.

Winter is closing in on us and it's already too cool (For me at least) to drive in the early morning. 60-65 degrees is my limit. Pretty soon it will be to the point that once every two three weeks it gets to 60-65 degrees and a two hour drive is possible. Then I'll focus on spending my spare time to find the source of the flat spot.

You say your about four hours away...Dale must be around Auburn/Opelika/Phenix City maybe? Or not that far down I-85?

Terry, Daleville is 28 miles west of Dothan or, right next door to Fort Rucker. 100 miles to Tuskegee,225 miles to the exit off I-85 to the Atlanta airport.Yup, it's finally starting to cool down here too,we'll be whining about the cold on the flight line in the mornings before too long. What engine , carb set up are you running? I have kept notes one my carb changes over the last year and am about to get the mixture right.[it's always been rich] I have a small collection of jets, and a set of reams and gauges for Weber 48 IDFs. Let me know if I can be of some assistance. [those jets and carb parts can be expensive when you're trying to find the right combination] Stay in touch,we may have a few more weekends of Spyder weather to come before winter. We can always meet somewhere in our other vehicles. My wife has some medical issues that preclude long uncomfortable trips in the Spyder. I do, however, have an enclosed car trailer,so maybe we can still get together.
Terry, Glad to see the car is doing well with all our refinements and that you decided to keep it..

I will have my 914 back in a few eeks from its Carrera suspensionand brake upgrade with a more refined test engine installed.

Lets get together for a trip over Blood Mountain, then down across Richard Russell Hwy........ I know of some roads around here that have 3 carsa day pass on them, you can use the entire road if you want, hell one of them I have my own time trials course on!
