ACHTUNG! Baltimore-Washington Speedster folks!

Who is interested in supporting the Kent Island show on the 30th of October?
That's next weekend; the Hoopty will be there, and so will Paul Holden's car.
I just put it together, but I have two reasons for going; one, this is the same sponsoring agency (the Kent Island Volunteer Fire Department) which tried valiantly to save my buddy Dave's son a while back, and two, I work with a guy named Joe who volunteers there.
Couple that with the Kent Island Cruisers being wicked awesome and their cars being straight-up cool ... Add a little crab and some delicious and refreshing beverages ... It should be a great day!
Depending on who all is interested, we could meet in Anne Arundel County somewhere for breakfast and then hit the Bay Bridge.

It's going to be from 10 a.m. to three, And they're offering dash plaques to the first 100 registered cars, twenty trophies and some other goodies. The firehouse is cooking lunch. Entry fee is ten bucks.

For the dudes who can't make it, I'm sorry to hear that, but there'll be more to come.

Kelly, it's in the northwest corner of the intersection of West St. and Solomon's Island Rd. -- but it carries a street address of 12 Defense St., Annapolis, 21401.
Take the Parole exit off of 50, and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. That's West St.; left on it takes you east.
Just prior to the first light you come to, look left. That's the diner. It's on a service road, set back about 100 feet or so from West St.
We could meet in Savage, though. That might be easier. The Mill parking lot, say around eight-thirty?

If that's not workable, I can meet you at the Double T around nine. I'd like to get to the show before it actually starts, especially since I'm parking near you and the Orange Creamsicle. I might have some cleaning to do. ;)

Looks like Kelly, me, Paul and Glenn will be meeting at Kent Island somewhere for the show Saturday.

Kelly and I will probably arrive at the Double T at about nine, eat a quick breakfast, then head over the bridge.
That may change, now that we've seen their offer of breakfast for eight bucks on the show flyer, but I doubt it. The Double T makes a hell'uva good flapjack.
I have not spoken to anyone about where we'll be parking, but that's still on the agenda. I'll post up tomorrow with what I find out.

Just saw the "Early Morning Breakfast" offered to people driving ther local club cars to the Hilton Head Concours this year.

You have to be there to arrive at 7:30am and they always used to give a free breakfast to the "invited" car club cars.

THIS year, it's a "Continental" (always means coffe and a Danish to me) for $10.

wow......Maybe I'll drive my F250 over for the "Camper Class" chuck-wagon exhibit!

great show, a little on the chilly side. Sorry i wasnt able to say goodbye, i looked for everyone. was trying to get out before the traffic backed up.

They had a car costume contest. when registering they asked me if i my car was dressed up. I said yes, but it always is. Its a VW dressed to look like a porsche speedster. Not quite sure if he understood me.

anyway, great time. I also got some answers to questions ive had. always helpful to hang out with other owners and look over there cars to figure things out. Thanks guys.

Cory claimed I was wasting my time and wax w/ my quick-detail of the Hoopty. Dang, I thought he would appreciate the gesture -- ? Anywho, we met up as stated and my son Morgan came along also. He is in the background of the Hoopty Polishing pic. He lives in Annapolis, just around the corner from the Double T, and so it was very convenient. Day was brilliant sunny, a tad cool at first, and lots of cars -- near 90 or so, I suppose. Some very fine rides, mostly suped up but some just restored old cars, nicely done. A few just bone stock cars, just along for the ride, I guess. And Cory's assessment of the new Kent Is. Firehouse was "Oh, you mean the Taj Mahall (?)" This is a spanking brand new mega-complex w/ the fire house stuck oin one end and lots of other stuff too -- ballroom, meeting rooms and heaven only knows what else. Very impressive. We had five Speedsters all told, and none won any prize -- we were all very disappointed about that . . . ;-) Naturally enough, the Hoopty in its full "Transformer" mode caught a lot of attention. We did not exactly take over the show, but we got a start -- next year we'll try for more.
