Has anyone successfully installed foot pegs on a VS? I can’t seem to figure out the correct angle. @aircooled encouraged me to install it at an angle, but I can’t help but think there’s a better way.

Recommended install location:

4F9573A8-29BB-49F0-97E2-8C603C954B0D

The angle after engaged:

B01D44B0-2E4D-4A12-AA29-BC3C04FE6D3D

More how I’d like it:

... but installed like this it would just push flush to the wall and be useless.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like I should've searched first. Bruce showed what successful installation is supposed to look like on this thread.

Here are the images he shared:

Hmm... I'm still thinking there's a way to point it perpendicular to the pedals. @aircooled, do you think if I milled out the housing that stops the peg at 90° to ~130° might work? Then I could install sideways (pointed back toward the vent), and flip out to ~130° (and in line with the pedal cluster).

Why not mount the peg flush, as intended, and slip a cinnamon-apple donut over the inner edge of the peg? Donuts get pretty hard after a week or two and this would meet your foot at just about the right angle.

OK, seriously, it might be easier to attach a small pad to the peg than monkey with how the thing is mounted to the car. And I'm guessing James is right anyway - you probably won't need to adjust anything once your foot gets used to it.

Me? I drive with my left foot flat on the floor, with my knee bent, and for some reason my leg is OK with that.

But I do like the idea of a handy carrier for a spare donut.

Hi Ryan....If there's a better way...I'm all for it !  If you have access to a milling machine the why not cut TWO aluminum wedges that will give you the angle you're looking for. One wedge for inside to give you that angle you want and one for outside to adjust for that angle and give you a parrallel bolt pattern ?  To get 130 degrees by milling the actual bracket may not leave you enough "meat" on one side to be adequately secure.

Sacto...you crack me up !   Loved it !

To Others...Thank You.........Bruce

That gives me an idea, you could run a rubber donut as a padding if your concerned that you might get the Point of the foot peg through your foot on a crash  Just kidding.

Ryan...I have been thinking about that 130 degree angle. I think you could do what you want by milling either the lever or the base a little to allow the lever to stop 40 more degrees lower than it is. Then rotate it  90 degrees counterclockwise from how it is mounted currently and you'd be have what you want. Is this what you had in mind ? Also, I was thinking about the wedges I suggested and have changed my mind about it because that would move the peg closer to the clutch pedal and that is undesireable.   I think I'll try milling a peg to get that 130 degree angle and see how it works/looks........Bruce
