I have 2 T1 Alternators for my build. Both have external regulators. My car was wired for generator with regulator so need to adjust some wires. One instlled is a Motorola with a Motorola external regulator. Regulator sat so long that the insulating stuff in the tim box turned to sticky goo with sandy looking stuff in it plus I don't have the special 3 prong plug for the alt. I removed the goo and filled it with fiberglass resin (not sure if that was good idea or not. The other one is a Bosch rebuild German unit - I have the Bosch regulator with the 3 prong plug.

Question is - are the regulators interchangeable between Bosch and Motorola?

Guess I'll swap the Bosch one in - just would rather spent the 3 hours doing something else on it. I do have a couple generators with regulators --- but prefer to go with Alt. Didn't know enough many years ago to look for a simpler internally regulated one.
