Great thread Troy.  I first started collecting information on replica speedsters in 2005.  At the time my daily was a 1991 Porsche 944s2.  I really wanted a speedster, but would need to drive it as a daily in San Francisco.  After months of research, I ended up leasing a new Mercedes.  Not exactly the same, but reliable.  In 2012, the speedster bug bit me once again.  This time, my research brought me to SOC.  I created a screen name and began to ask all the usual entry questions.  Once again, the speedster would be my daily driver.  After some hesitancy, I bought an '06 Z4 Roadster instead.  The streets in SF aren't the best.  In a town that never sees ice, the city has its fair share of potholes, some large enough to lose a speedster.

In 2016, finding a classic car was again on my radar.  This time, it would be a fun car, only driven when the weather was nice for me and my son and me and my wife to enjoy.  I was focused on 60s Mercedes 280's (coupes and 4-doors), '61-'64 Lincoln Continentals, early 60s Austin Healeys and early 50s Cadillacs.  My wife thought those were all boring except the Healey.  She began to show me the speedsters she was finding.  I was floored.  "Those!  But they are impractical", I said.  She replied by stating this car is only a fun car anyway.  So our search started.  We had a tough time finding a speedster, as the winter months aren't exactly the best time to find a plethora of used speedsters for sale.  We even reached out to Kirk about building our own.  However, as luck would have it, on March 17th of 2017, we found the latest addition to our family.  How fitting we buy an Irish Green speedster on St. Patty's Day.  We did everything you're not suppose to do when buying a car, including look at it at night; but the luck of the Irish fell upon us.  Thanks @Broose Waiyne
