Ah, a car condom! Tape the bottom with blue painters tape.
I'd forget it and just pack a couple micro-fleece, detail spray and MOST DEFINITELY a California Water Blade. Silicone and soft, squeegee the dew off in a minute, no scratches. I've had one for years, they are awesome!
I agree with DP. Besides, we really need to get away from plastics...destroying our environment!

'Cuz the old metal Speedsters just returned back to the earth from when they came!
You're a little premature, Greg; that'll buff out...
Wonder what it would fetch on ebay--$3,000?

If it has the vin id plate and enough surrounding sheet metal to graft to I'd guess 40-$50,000?
el Marto: I have a very light weight car cover made of parachute material. At the bottom below each door is a reinforced grommet which lets you install a bungee cord or cable lock between them under the car and that, alone, has always kept it on when parked. I had to make up a small piece of wood with a 10' length of cord on it with a hook on the end to hook onto the far end of the attached bungee on one side, toss the attached block under the car to the other side, then pull the bungee over and hook it to the other side. Sounds complicated but took 15 seconds and worked.
I have one that I use on dew-covered windows and on the whole car when I wash it. That, along with a heavy, absorbent, soft micro-fiber towel is a great way to dry a clean car. I would NOT use it on a dirty car as the dirt would scratch the paint and contaminate the water blade.
Its official-no car condom. I was aching for a road trip and I was able to squeeze into this one. I wanted to go last year but my son was graduating HS. Its a boatload of driving and good social time too. Sandy is also coming. I told her to pack the motion sickness pills, the drive routes are over 200 miles each day. Heading out next week Thursday.
Stan, look at tip #1
This one made me chuckle.
Is this another way to say slow in fast out?
Are you going in the Speedster?
How'd you get around the pre-1990 build requirement?

Yes, with the Speedster (convertible D). I know people who know people. Just kidding, actually these guys are cool, once you get to know them. Also very organized. It's not a sanctioned event so the rules are bendable. Lots of different makes show but usually German, British, Italian, with a sprinkling of France and Sweeden.
What’s the ride @Marty Grzynkowicz? And I don’t think you’ll convince @Stan Galat of the merits of driving gloves.
They have a dress code for dinner both nights.
Of COURSE they have “Driving Gloves” 🧤

Well it's hard to enjoy dinner with a over ripe driver sitting next to you
I think I’m going to start a club called, “The Overripe Drivers”.
No gloves. No dress-code.

I'm ok with the no glove club, but I'm not sure about the smelly part
Very cool! I wanna do one of these.
I go to the Clermonte Rally every year Columbus Day weekend. It's in Clermont, NY and is invite only. Missed it the last two years, no car in 2016 and busted ankle last year. It's a one day event, starts in the morning and ends at an undisclosed location for a late, catered lunch.
It's a FUN rally, you get a booklet with riddles and questionable directions and questions to answer in the booklet. The back page is glued shut and gives the final address in case you get lost.
The roads in Northern Dutchess County are incredible, and the fall colors make it even better. Open to all makes and years of sports cars, but vintage are preferred. But you need the invite.
Now I start at the back with the organizers(leaving last). they try to pass everyone on their way to the end destination. GREAT FUN!
I would love to do something like this for us.
No gloves needed and attire is entirely up to you!
