I have no specific knowledge regarding either of these companies. However, if they are building "stock" or "near stock" engines I would use caution. Questions to ask are like:

are the cases new, or are the cases ever line bored?

Are the cases full flowed?

are the cranks and rods new or "rebuilt"?

what constitutes "rebuilt"?

if cranks and rods are "rebuilt" how far undersized are they?

what are the standard heads? new or rebuilt? valve sizes? springs?
cams? lifters? oil pumps? flywheel, forged, cast, weight, don't know or care?

warranty?

There are several custom engine builders on thesamba that will build a pretty decent engine....for only slightly more than a "stock" rebuild and they will tell what they use, and some of them have customer feed back to reference on the website....I personally have a CB engine and have purchased a Bergmann build engine in the past....they are both pretty well up in the food chain for mass production higher performance engines....either have their proponents and detractors as well....but are more of a known quanitity. when it comes to engines there are no free lunches....
