Is yours a pan based Speedster or a tube chassis Cabriolet (i.e. roll up windows).  If a Speedster (with side curtains) one by VM "may" fit.  (I bought one several years ago for my CMC (step child of early IM) - sewing is okay quality and sides are a little narrower where it meats the windshield).  At VM they are $493 ($380 when I bought)-

IF IM can supply one I think it would fit better.  Worth email to them to check.

Haartz is a good material, but if you want to go top notch, German Happich cloth makes a fantastic top.

If you order a ready-to-be-installed top from IM, see if they will make the edge trimming (around the side windows) from leather, instead of vinyl.  Leather will last that much longer than vinyl trim.

You may also have to specify what back window you want, but a zip-out one - one that can be zipped down for top up, breezy driving - is a good idea.  It's great for intolerably hot days.

Good luck.

From my experience about 2 years ago with my Roadster at the time, IM does not sell tops.  I had the car in S Cal already and Greg at Vintage Motorcars had his upholstery guy make a top using the existing top as a pattern. I could not have been happier with the results.  It was top quality.
My local guy does custom work and has worked on many of my cars. He is in San Jose. I'll PM you just so his cell phone doesn't get picked up by a spam bot.

Sounds very good, I look forward to the info.

When I get my CMC out of hibernation each Spring, I give it a good by-hand wash with the top up and get the top good and wet (Mine is Haartz fabric).  Then, I dry the car with a chamois (skipping the top) and let the top dry in the sun, thereby getting it to shrink nicely to the bows and as much as the tensioners allow.

Bob here is absolutely on the Money.  Autos International can make you an IM top I believe they are the suppliers but you need to know the model so IM would be the one to get the information from because they changed their design to prevent side window  edges from damaging the top especially on a ROadster.  A  Zip out rear window is a must IMHO, don't buy a top without it.  I also believe that Frank at Auto's International could do the install or can direct you to someone.

Bob, I never saw leather on the edge but it's a good idea.

To prevent the edge of my top from wearing I installed a window module that allows my keyfob, from IM, to not only lock and unlock but it can now drop the windows so that you open the doors with the windows Down.  When you lock the car as you leave the car, the windows go up.
