HELLO, I JUST TOOK DELIVERY OF A 2003 BECK, GREAT CAR,REALLY BAD SHIFTER/LINKAGE.WHEN SHIFTING IT HITS THE EXHAUST,THE TUNNEL,POPS OUT OF FOURTH ALOT. I SEE LOTS OF REPLACEMENTS ON DIFFERENT CARS, I AM CONSIDERING THE JAMAR WITH THE POLISHED RODS/LINKAGE. WILL IT BE A "DROP IN" OR WILL I NEED A NOSE /BANGING-FITTING ETC? ALSO, I WANT TO REPLACE THE "PLASTIC" GAS PEDAL WITH AN ALUMINUM PEDAL,BEST PEDAL WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF WORK-FITTING?? ANY SUGGST? THANKS CHAS

Check out my Beck rebuild pictures on this site. I designed a Jamar shifter install that works great - it might give you some ideas.

It is in the files section under SpyderMike. The diagram for the shoifter is the second to last picture. There are several pics of the install.

As far as pedals, some of us have put OMP units on. I have yet to do my throttle, but did do the clutch and brake - see the pictures in the same seciton.

Mike

Just to round out the discussion I had a Jamar in and just could not get it to work, with loads of help from people on this and the SpyderClub sites. I went to the Brandwood and after 2 hours had all 4 gears and the shifting is not sloppy. I do agree that if right the Jamar should be better but I couldn't get it to work.
