late, very late, to this party.  Lots to consider.  Two things only to add: everyone seems to think the sweet spot in the Type 1 universe is the 2110.  I think you'd like that.  Full disclosure: I have a 2332, and love it. I like torque and it has that.  But its been a love-hate relationship.  Not the engine exactly, but the 44IDFs.  I have been to that place Stan admits to: ready to toss them in the lake and try something different.  But I persevered, and learned a lot about how to take em apart and put em back together.  And I have that friend who likes beer: Danny Piperato.  He worked his magic after my final rebuild, and I added a really good fuel filter.  [-- hears several loud knocks on wood -- ] And its been  a few years now that all I have had to do is adjust the idle a little now and then.  So it is possible to live with and love your Webers.
