Hi , I am considering changing the style of seats I have in my Fiberfab Speedster. I am wanting to go with what I call the more traditional seat with the open slots in the back and some side bolsters. I know Vintage Speedsters sells complete seats in Vinyl and leather and Special Edition can have some made up for me as well. I am wondering if there are any other suppliers or forum members who might have a set of seats to sell that match my interior color. I would like an idea of who originally supplied the seats I have know and if they are still sold. To me my seats look different than the style I see in most Speedsters. Comments, suggestions?

Those are the exact seats I bought here on SOC from a past member in AZ.  He bought them from VS 8-9 years ago and never used them.  He was going to replace the traditional slotted Speedster seats with the VS one but changed his mind. I think VS called them comfort seats.

MY CMC is black gel coat - and came with the slotted seats with lip stick red vinyl and black vinyl top/tonneau.  As I age, I want to go to tan vs red so have new VS Haartz top and tonneau.  I still need tan door cars and back seat.

I have the slotted CMC speedster seats as well as a set of black (need new covering) 914 seats available (head rests have been removed).  When I had the VS seats shipped in a single box - shipping from AZ to NW FL was $120.

You only have about 18' at the very base to work with in a FF/CMC.  Beck seats may be too wide since they are not a VW pan based car (custom tube chassis).  DrClock posed outlaw looking seats he got from ebay awhile back - but suspect only available in black? Others have used older Mazda Miata seats too but they are like ones you currently have.

The CMC vinyl (like I have) could easily be replicated in a different color using old covering for a pattern.

fwiw I am using the el-cheapo seats Thunder Ranch supplied with my kit--these are rudimentary narrow 'glass buckets with high bolsters similar to these EMPI ones..

I just cut the vertical slots in the backs before handing them over to my upholstery guy.

(This was after I made the mounting system & etc.)

Bottom line: it's probably cheaper, as well as better, to go with Greg's offer.
