Black Speedster with Subaru Engine, AC in Sacramento

I right up the hill from this car..i could go do a look see,possible test drive if someone is really interested

It has some resemblance to a VS but they never built one with a Subie engine, could have been a roller and finished with the Subie. Most likely a JPS. It may not matter but see if the seller has a picture of the hood handle, door hinges, engine lid hinges, and the underside of the car.

Is it registered as a VW or SPCNS?

WOW - its got a 300 hp AC unit.  Not a fan of Beverly Hills Motorcars.

Ad says tan interior was new two years ago, so probably an older car that was freshened with a VS interior kit. Frunk carpet has been neatly modified to accommodate the battery, which is mounted higher than normal, probably due to a radiator below it.

I don't remember seeing this car on the street or at any local cars and coffee, but then, much of life's passing panoply evades my notice.

FWIW, the photos were taken at a park in El Dorado Hills, where the ad claims the car is located (about 15 miles from me).

It's also not too far from the fabled mechanic Tony, so if you wanted a serious VW mechanic (with Subaru experience) to check it out, something could probably be arranged.

I could check it out for you, too, but probably couldn't tell you much that was useful except for whether it smells funny or not.

If it came from BH Motorcars, you can bet the buyer overpiad for it imo .....
