My Black Vintage Super Widebody sold for $33,000 and my Pewter traditional body  sold for $31,000, but, the nicest one of all, my Black traditional body Vintage still has not sold so I've dropped the price to $27,500.  Here is the link with all the details, high def. photos and video.

Best of luck on your Speedster endeavor.

@Sarah   Definitely give Troy a call.  He is a great source of information, and has a better understanding than most on Vintage Speedsters built cars, as an owner and enthusiast.

having been new to this hobby once upon a time, best words of guidance ever received — “ buy a fully sorted, reliable used car to dip your toe in this hobby.  Once you decide if these cars/lifestyle are for you, then consider buying new and building your dream car from a reputable, hopefully near by builder”.

Find someone locally that owns one.... buy them a cup of coffee, and they will tell you all you need to know, let you drive their car, and share their experiences maintaining these cars in your area.  A local support network is key... like dealer maintenance facilities for new cars ;-)

There is a reason why so many almost new cars with very low miles ( under 1000) are constantly up for sale.   Most/ all new cars need sorting... they are custom built best spoke cars... not Honda’s.    The dream of ownership doesn't always match the reality.

me personally... I owned two used Vintage a Speedster cars before deciding to have a new one built.  And learned about these cars with every - experience, breakdown, maintenance cycle, thunder storm, flat tire, and summer heat wave.... Like going to school... first I had to earn my BS, than an MS, and finally a PhD ;-)  and now use the car almost daily- 10 months out of the year— summer and winter in Seattle.  It’s the Bluetooth/radio free, engine concert driving experience that I enjoy the most.  Like 20 min twice daily mini-vacations from the routine of life /kids/work.

happy shopping...

@Sarah I live in Dallas and have an old CMC Speedster.  It's the white one with the extra amount of "patina" on it.  Welcome to the club and if you ever see me out & about definitely say "hi."  There is a Speedster available in Fort Worth (at least purportedly - I have not checked it out) that seems like it would be a great entry level into this madness.  I will post the link in a separate thread.

Sara. Talk to Troy. Can't hurt, right? Shipping is a non-issue. I've had many cars shipped safely. He can help with that. Also the advice to try and find one to test drive is good. I will add that having one built is NOT the way I would go. A dealer in Calif. still owes me for either a car or all my deposits. All builders are not the same and this one requires my attorney and others to get involved

Good luck with your ride. Call Troy.
