Bosch alternator

When I got the car the exterior voltage regulator was bypassed, so I assumed it had a built-in voltage regulator in it. However it was causing my battery to bubble out the top and smell like rotten eggs. I purchased a alternator conversion kit PO# WC672G alternator for it, I made a horrible mistake and did not detach the exterior voltage regulator and ran the car. Now my generator will not charge my battery and my lights are going dim.

Yes. It has an internal regulator.

Thank you! Sorry for the ignorant questions I'm just not that familiar with the alternator conversions. If one is overcharging my battery and the other one is not charging it at all, does that mean both alternators are bad?

More than likely both are toast

The photo shows a single wire internal alternator aka  (B+) ....the small spade connector is the 61 wire aka the dash red light indicator .  Your 2nd post states alternator / generator so  a little confusion but assume you mean alternator.  If the battery is boiling it is overcharged and more than likely shot. You'll need to get the alternator checked out but I would just go ahead and replace both the single wire 55 amp alternator and a new battery. $200 will cover both parts.

Some towns have places that actually trouble shoot and repair generators, starters and alternators.  See if you can find one and take both alternators for repair,  The one that doesn't charge probably has a bad diode.

Find a local place that actually repairs alternators and starter (Google search).  It's usually something small like a cheap diode that goes bad.  Take both as one may be cheaper to fix.

Hic-cup! Weird - posted once, NO SHOW, nor the next few times.  I do like saying Wetumpka but thought maybe I had a verboten 4 letter word in there somewhere.  Maybe I need to pay up on my donation (expired credit card). Deleted the excessive ones. 

This is just my .02 and they way in most cases I do things... Having invested the time to remove the questionable alternator get a new one for piece of mind out on the road.
