That's exactly why I bought a 5th Sportrac5.  Immediately after mounting the first four,  I thought about Murphy's Law.  I put #5 in a garbage bag, stuck in the corner, and figure I'll just wait to see if Murphy ever comes "knockin'" on my door. I'm ready for   him.

Again, we're over here on the Spyder side of things. Most Spyders have staggered sets, 185/65 fronts and either 195/60 or 205/60 rears.

I'm really not averse to buying another set now, depending on how they wear. That's the plan for the Cayman too: a set of streets and a set for the track.

Bruce: I've no idea what durometer the tires are, and I've also no idea what temps they'll run.

@barncobob not picking on you buddy, but some(a few?) of us like to really DRIVE, so we want sticky tires. They don't need to last that long, just stick. Mileage tires are for the daily drivers....

@aircooled sorry to hear they abandoned the a-arms in the spyder, I was watching closely as none of us here could figure out how they could do it and make it work safely without a whole new chassis, which is what we've always said it would take, and even then it will be a challenge due to the pedal box and limited packaging up front...  That said, a properly set up front beam can work really well and Im sure you'll be happy with it.  Much more so than an a-arm with miles of bump-steer.

re: tires, yes 185s are in stock but likely will not be restocked.  They are expecting a new part number for both the 195s and 185s but do not yet have confirmation on if this will actually happen and when.  There are 2 new SKUs in the system, the Sprint+ and the HiTrac A/S, if similar compound and treadwear, but not the same...

Carey....Thank you for your comments and encouragement. All of your comments on here are so very welcome to all of us. I also appreciate your openness and willingness to share your information and helpful tricks or sources. You follow a conviction in this area that I totally relate to.

I will pass on your offer to Greg as well.  I know he's not using cables but I don't know exactly what he IS using......................Bruce
