Fee to viewers - $25 Advance to enter (and get free T-Shirt)

Has been a great event in past few years.  I have never seen a Speedster entered! 4 of us local SOC guys show up (Jim A, Mark T and Bob G).  If you plan to attend let me know so we can meet up for breakfast or lunch. Good time to visit as hoards of tourists have left!

Bugs on the Bayou is the brainchild of Kusten Kreuzers of the Emerald Coast, an air cooled Volkswagen club in Okaloosa County Florida.  The City of Niceville and Eglin AFB were kind enough to allow us the use of the Mullet Fest grounds for our annual car show.  This means that we have plenty of room spread out as far as we need to accommodate everyone comfortably.  Plan your vacation around this event because we are located just minutes from the most beautiful beaches in the world!

Date: Saturday September 15, 2018

Registration is 8–11. Judging begins 11:00.  Awards ceremony at 2:30.
Dash Plaques for first 75 entries & trophies for the top 10 vehicles.

Hey Bob,  I think the picture rule should apply here for fish stories as well.    There had to be pics of your trip.   Saltwater fishing is my other madness beside cars.  Especially reds and trout.  I am going to try and get up there to meet fellow Speedster drivers. Maybe we can coordinate a cruise and fish trip to entice some of SOC crew to make a FL trip. Here is one of my pics. This one was right off our central Fl coastline. @Panhandle Bobimage

Jody and wife are staying Saturday night in Niceville.  Planning to get together with them for dinner/brunch (?) at The Boathouse Landing.  May do Mango Margaritas (hey its FL) at my place if there is time.  All SOCers invited to join in.

Free to view event and free parking.  If you register your car you get a free $15 T-Shirt for the $25 advance registration fee.  This year judging is by those attending show - not by judges. In past proceeds went to a charity but I don't see one listed yet this year.  There is a VW flea market too and a DJ. Hey, this is big time for Niceville!

Nearby is Turkey Creek nature walk - you might see gators or heron.  Also Eglin has a large Armament Museum with SR-71 Blackbird, A-10 Warthog, B-52, C-130, F16, etc.  You most likely will see F-35 (or at least hear) out of nearby Eglin AFB along with AC130 and V22 Osprey out of Hurlburt.
