Driving a bit beyond redline, I lost the fan belt on my Spyder.

Wasn't two blocks from home, so I just limped in and turned it off before she got too hot.

About to put a new belt on --- CB performance type I putting out about 180 --- was wondering if the "super deluxe" bullet proof belt/pully system they have is worth the $$$ (and more importantly, the hassle in a mid-engine set up).

As an aside, I ordered for inclusion in my truck one of those "no tools" emergency fan belts for the road.

I like Jim's choice, primarily because the pulleys have holes in them (as opposed to solid hubs). The holes would let me stick a screwdriver through the pulley to lock the pulley shafts while tightening or loosening the pulley nuts.

I don't have one, but there doesn't seem to be any downside to the serpentine system. Looks totally all-good to me.
