I've never heard of there being a maximum spec, Joe, although that doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.  Even with smaller base circle cams (stock are smaller base circle than most aftermarket and I believe Gene Berg used to have some Engles ground to stock size to help clear the bigger stroker crankshafts) there's never been any concern that I know about.

Did you figure out what to do about getting minimum case to lifter head clearance?

I’m looking into a machine shop cutting down the lifter bore tops to get me to spec. I just don’t know if 0.050”or 0.060” Maximum spec?

You have .020" now (on all of them?) at full lift- don't let them cut more than needed (leave as much of the case alone as possible).  .025" is plenty.  Make sure the machine shop maintains the bevel at the top of the bores and doesn't just whack the tops off to get clearance.  Again- you want to leave as much of the case as possible.

So my specs range from 0.022"-0.026". But I have 1 that is 0.015". If I machine 0.025" my new spec would be 0.047"-0.051" accept the one lifter would be 0.040". Just don't know if 0.050" is on the high end of the spec range?

You wouldn't happen to know the bevel angle at the top of the bores?
