Nothing needs to be done for the BBQ , a booked on Thursday you have the BBQ.... This will automatically charged to your room folio .
OK, so registered with Carlisle Events, check. Reservation made, I hope, with Marriott, check. Could not reach on-site agent Charity at 717 300 7026, but did get a rep at 717 477 0680 who patched me in to the national reservation place. While that person apparently took all the info, and got my reservation, took CC #, got confirmation #, etc, she was very slow, like this was the first reservation she had ever done, Had to do the data twice, as she put in only for one day the first time. Will confirm with Charity at number above tomorrow.
Meanwhile, what about signing up for our events, dinners etc. sending money? How is that going to be managed? Scanned the posting here, mighta missed it -?-
PS, Google says hotel to fairgrounds 33 mins, usual traffic, via I81. At least no PA Pike tolls -!!?-
I don't know if I registered with Charity but I think I registered directly with the hotel.
But, I really don't know who the guy transferred me to.
@Alan Merklin, at some point it may be good for you to publish a list of who you have for Thursday night to remove some of the uncertainty.

Done. I think I see what the problem was. One post had the number ending with 7026 while the last one had 7025, which is the correct one. Went very smoothly.
EDIT: Just made Christiansburg reservations for SE caravan waypoint. Yeehah!
Lane, will there be the usual lunch rendezvous, or just push on to Shippensburg, since it is just another exit or two up the road. Maybe there is a nice eatery there we can meet for lunch?? Since you are, with no doubt whatsoever, the absolute Head Honcho here, I leave all that high level executive decision making to you. Pls advise.
OK, see that BBQ is on the Marriott room invoice, so that keeps it real simple. Anything else neeed $$? Big Saturday dinner bash? tours? Cruises?
Be nice to have the day by day, or hour by hour list of festivities/options for the weekend. Will assume nothing official starts until Thurs PM. Will plan to arrive that afternoon. No rush here, lots of time, but this will be needed somewhere along the line.
My confo, done through national office pretty sure, has the correct rate and mentions the correct Speedster Owners group. Still, will confirm with hotel (Charity) on the morrow.

I will be skipping the Christiansburg stopover because it's such a short distance from Knoxville where I always spend the night after leaving Hot Springs. The trip from Knoxville to the Marriott in PA is not too long for a day's drive.

The southern caravan usually stops for lunch at the Cracker Barrel Exit 16 in Chambersburg PA. The exit for the hotel from the south is just 9 minutes up RT 81 at Exit 24.

Bobbi & I are booked for Thursday,Friday and Saturday. I've not read all 5 pages of posts. Is there an itinerary of any sort for the weekend? I spoke to Mr. Merklin,and know there is a BBQ planned for Thursday evening at the hotel. Also breakfast buffet Saturday morning,and a voucher for Sunday breakfast at the Hotel Restaurant. There will be plenty of time for socializing at the Showfield.

Saturday Night Gala Awards Dinner Banquet will be at The Orchards which is half an hour down Rt 11 from the hotel.
Cost is $40 for the buffet: Grilled chicken breast in marsala sauce, broiled Haddock with pico de gallo, mixed vegetables, whipped potatoes, salad and dessert, tax and gratuity inclusive. Cash bar is steps away in the lobby.
Watch for a new thread later this week with your reservation form.
Do you all realize that fully 16% of the rooms so far reserved are for people from (gasp!) the WEST COAST?
And another 12% are from Ca... Can... (I struggle to even say it) CANADA!!

I registered with Charity this afternoon. She picked up on the first ring. Said she didn’t need my credit card today but suggested I bring it in May. I’m going to try to coax Jim Anderson to join me again as he did 2 years ago. If he can’t maybe I can talk Scott Hansen to join me or even get him to drive out in his super Speedster.
Instead of T-shirts and Hoodies this year, I thought maybe a secret decider ring with SOC identity...we may need one to decode what the hell Gerd talks about.
