Howdy all.  First, before the last two years I literally lived for the Carlisle trip.  My goal, which was accomplished was to have a Speedster made for the annual 2,500 mile round trip to Carlisle from Hot Springs, AR.  WE drove to Knoxville, met up with 4-6 Southern Caravan folks then up 81 to Carlisle with one group lunch on the way picking up an additional 4-6 cars there.  The caravan from home to Carlisle was an event in itself.  The last 2 1/2 years took us temporarily out of commission with the Covid hoax then Breast cancer for Alice and prostate cancer for me.  I am happy to report that as of last December both Alice and I are cured completely and PET scans  last December reveal zero cancer anywhere  in either of our bodies.  We daily praise God for His provision!                                                                                                                                                                                      We are both planning to attend Carlisle this spring in whatever way the event gets held.  I have made life long friends from previous Carlyle events  so stopping my attendance won't happen until me or my Speedster becomes unable.   My Son, Russ and Grandson, Sean will join me there this year too so Carlile gives me one more opportunity to be with my son and grandson.  Plus on the way home we go through Arlington VA to see my daughter and her family including two granddaughters.  This is what makes this a 2,500 mile round trip.

My VS Speedster's Raby Type 4 takes care of the reliability part, 4 wheel disc brakes help with the safety part and the Espar heater warms us in the Smokies.  This will be our 14th event and we can't wait. Hanging out on the showfield and the group dinners are highlights.

Plus we are planning to enjoy the Smokies event again this year.  Hope to see new and old friends at Carlisle!

As I read elswhere, Jack, you and Alice have been through a tough few years so I'm really pleased that things are finally looking up for you both.  It seems like Kathy and I have been seeing way to much of the inside of doctor's offices in the past year or so, too.

It really sucks, getting old, and it's not for the feint of heart for any of us, for sure.

Hang in there and keep doin' what'cha doin'.  You're on a winning streak!

Sure is great to hear from you, Iron Pants, may all those travails be behind you. I am Delighted at the notion to see you et al. in May. .  If there is a caravan and a final lunch stop somewhere around Hagerstown, or wherever, I'll be on for hooking up, as per prior.  That said, I think the thin crowd projected for this year may not suffice to nucleate the caravan.  Notably, Lane has expressed suffering of  Carlisle Fatigue Syndrome, and is bowing out, last I heard, as well as some others.   Maybe he'll change his mind?? ...  As the time gets a little closer, I guess we'll see who is and who is not made of tougher stuff.

I'm thinking about it, Fraz. Lot's going on here now. we're yanking a trailer down to St. Augustine in two days and Sun n fun for a few day after that. Building a new plane now too. If the short weather forecast hits right..We'll be a contender. Miss all the company we've so generously had over the years.

Yes---I have the same questions as Alan.   In the past, by now, there were usually posts with at least the start of a schedule.  I'll go back and re read previous posts about the event this year.  I especially enjoy hanging out at the show field, the group dinners including the banquet on the last night.  This will be my 14th Carlisle event and I never get tired of reconnecting with old Speedster/Spyder/MG  friends---that's the main attraction for me.  Pretty soon now I hope to start seeing some idea of plans for this year!
