build sheet for my motor says valve adj for intake .001 & .002 for exhaust. Is this metric? I'm new at vw motors.

Also when I have asked about valve adj. in the past, I have had heard to adj. to .004 for intake and .006 for exhaust. Is this when the motor is hot? Why the difference?

It is best to adjust to what the builder says. This is not metric.

The pushrods they used are a material less prone to expansion differential with the motor as it heats up.
