OK I've been to Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, Napa and several locals looking for a check valve.
Most of them wouldn't know what a check valve was if it bit them in the A$$.
And the one that did only listed one with three barbs that were about 1/16 Dia.

Anyone know a source and maybe a part #???

Thanks
Jay

I am often stunned at the lack of knowledge of the person behind the counter of an auto parts store...

Some PCV valves have a ball-check in them. I usually find these in the generic "help" section of an auto parts store. These work OK for a vapor system as they are designed to let vapor flow but the ball rolls closed when liquid hits it. Emissions equipment especially on carbureted cars have check valves. Jaguar used a check-valve inside their fuel lines near the tanks on both sides of a 76 Jaguar. That was the true liquid type check valve where liquid flows one way only, can't flow backward.

Also, Summit Racing sells a nice selection of check valves starting around $25 and going up to about $175ish. Some very nice ones in the $40 range.

OK, so now I've been to every car part store and every motorcycle shop in a 50 mile radius...No One has one. They act like this is some kind of antique part. I've asked for a One-way valve, a check valve and a Vacume check valve I've even explaned how one works in case they have a name for it that i don't know about.

One motorcylce shop even told me motorcyles haven't used those in more than 20 years....Yeah Right!

I guess you just can't get one in central Texas.

I will be making a couple of phone calls to my car and motorcycle buddies in California.

Usually, whenever I wander through a junk yard (Oh, I mean "Automotive Recycling Facility") I look into a few Fords and grab a few vacuum check valves here and there. They're about the diameter of a quarter, black on one side and white on the other, 3/16" barbed fittings and seem to flow enough air in one direction to satisfy a VW engine/gastank need.

I'm sure other makers (GM, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, etc) had them, too, but I knew which Ford ones worked and just grabbed those.

Thanks to Roland, though, for making Jay's search easier!
