As discussed in another thread, I bought and had installed the Dansk VWC-113-251-053-AKKT / (113251053A) exhaust from CIP1.

But I hadn't realized how small the tailpipes of this kit are, they're the classic VW Bug itsy bitsy size.  Something like OD of 1 1/4", maybe 1 3/8" on a warm day.  And they don't extend far out enough.  See photos of (my) red car.  I know, the jokes may be coming, but I tried to choose my words carefully!

Are there tailpipes that're accepted to be the goto?  Preferably either very narrow ID & baffled (because the whole point was to quiet it down), or able to accept baffle inserts.  I'm attaching some photos of what I think is the classic look, or at least what I'm looking for.

Already adding slight thread drift to my own post, but I'm curious to know if there's some "Cherry Bomb®" equivalent for these cars.  Well, I'm looking for the velvety exhaust note that it produces, but it probably also makes it louder... 😣

I bring this up whenever someone asks for an exhaust with a 'stock' sound. (You said 'velvety', so I'm guessing that is sort of what you meant.)

If there's anything like a consensus here, it's probably for the A1 Sidewinder - an extractor '4-into-2-into-1' design that gets great performance out of our engines for the price. But one drawback is it's a little loud under acceleration.

I left a little performance on the table and opted for a more 'classic' look and sound - a Vintage Speed all-stainless exhaust specifically made for VW-powered replica Speedsters. The pipes are pretty close to what stock 356 pipes looked like, but this isn't a tuned header system.

Here's what it looks and sounds like:

Do you have heater boxes or j-pipes ?

Thanks @Sacto Mitch, I like the way that sounds, I should record mine and listen on the computer to sort of "normalize" the audio for closer apples-to-apples comparison.

I'll consider that for future cars, but I actually just had a new exhaust installed.  I guess I should've mentioned something "like" a Cherry Bomb accessory patched in as an adapter right before the tailpipes.  In terms of velvety sound, what I mean is the difference between stock and cherry bomb, for example at 1m35s:  https://youtu.be/P4grV6KWMjM?t=95 .  Doesn't have to be cherry bomb, I just mean something of that nature.

@WOLFGANG I saw those and was initially turned off because they're tapered, then realized that the taper wouldn't really be visible.  So perhaps they'd work:

But the other ones pictured in my OP, those seem to be so common, I would think they're a well-known part?  Perhaps I need to go to one of the builders (Vintage Motorcars / Vintage Speedsters / Beck / Intermeccanica)?
