A VS that appears to be a near clone of my car (but with a 3.88 4-speed) is available here in sunny Sacramento:

GT Auto Lounge is one of those used 'exotic' car places that seems to be reasonably legit (or as legit as those places ever are.) They've been here for at least a few years, do business in an honest-to-gosh building with their name on the front, and have hosted a few local C&C's. To my knowledge, no murders have ever taken place there, but I can't vouch for lesser crimes.

I haven't seen this car, but it seems to have a few things in its favor. It looks to me like a Kirk-era VS (I'd guess maybe circa 2010) with 35,000 miles on the odo - which means that it at least got driven a fair amount with some regularity, so it is probably capable of going for more than a few miles at a time without needing a tow truck or emergency services.

Besides the CBP 2110 (which almost certainly wasn't the original engine), the owner also installed under-dash VDO oil temp and oil pressure gauges, so they at least knew that checking those things is a good idea.

With the state of the world today, $36K seems a fair place to begin negotiations.

If you're seriously interested in this, I could probably be persuaded to drive over there and kick the tires, but if you'd rather I didn't, I can thoroughly understand.

If you're considering this car, be sure you look at it in person.

Looks like a beauty, and with the prices going down on BaT, a relative bargain.

There have recently been a couple of cars on BAT that were nowhere near the quality of the cars that sold prior to them and the Spring and Summer peak sales season is coming to a close.  I think it's just the start of the seasonal lull that we always see.

I think the bar has been permanently raised for nice used Speedster replicas and next Spring you'll be hard pressed to find one under $40,000.

Agreed.
