Hey Marty---I guess it's the season to swap out engines! Nice look on yours, like Lane, I like those fancy valve covers. Your call on the wires--they do break up the overall color of the engine and add detail--I think they are a plus.

Will your car be ready for The Dragon Run this year?

Congratulations Marty--beautiful car and now a special engine to go with it!---Jack
Thanks a bunch guys. I have been quite for the most part, but it's more fun when you let the other car nuts in on the process. My engine is being built by Rolland Rascon. From what I know he builds the Long Blocks for Vintage Speedsters. I checked him out and he recived a clean bill of health. Rolland builds a few High Performance engines on the side. He did a nice engine for Billy B. who was quite a trip if you remember, he posted a bunch when the his car was being biult. He lead the Regan run CA last fall and before you you knew it the car was sold on Ebay. Talk about auto ADD. Got to get back to work so I'll post some specs later.

Jim, If I dont make it to CA this summer for sure next spring with Jack. Sandy says hello.

Hey, Cory....speaking of egg sammiches, I finally get Kathy to Carlisle and on Saturday we head off to the field, get everything set up and settled and then head on over to the food concession area with Chris in tow for the ceremonial Egg Sammich.

We stand in line for 10 minutes, finally give them the order and then hang around for something like 20 minutes waiting for the goodies to get heated and gelled.

In the meantime, Chris wanders off and returns in about ten minutes with one of the nicest-looking Belgian Waffles I've ever seen.

Damn kids.....
Leon,

I actually held back a bit when the builder asked me "How much HP do you want?" The man card in my wallet wanted to scream out something like 180HP, but I thought about how I drive may car and said "I want 140 driveable HP with a shitload more Torque!". In reality, I only tool the car to my office a day or two per week, use it for weekend runs and now the SOC events.

Lane, I went with a 2275CC with high quailty parts. Rolland is using a Steve Long Racing Cam which I was told sounds real pipey and the Torque curve will be awesome. It will come on low "old school" I dont drive over 70-75 in this car anyway. I'll be able to step on the gas without downshifting and just go. Port and polished heads and manifold, Cimma pistons, chromeolly conecting rods, lightwieght flywheel, Kennedy clutch, 44IDF Webers, braided lines, Thin line CB sump with full flow oil system and fan, forged crank and more. I cant remember it all, the specs are in the office. Anyway its been a solid four months. When you do custom work your always waiting on someone to finish there end. Sounds like the motor will ship in a day or two, so there will be rubber burned in the not so distant future. Marty
