Glad you got the stickers OK, Mike.

By my calculations, it takes only one more day to cross the Pacific by canoe than it does to reach Peoria overland.

Oxcarts and Conestoga wagons are pretty slow, but at least they're empty for the return trip (after dropping their cargo of eastern immigrants eager to make their mark in the Golden State).

Clown car badges. In keeping with the serious theme of this thread, I decided that MY car (the sum of which resides in three separate location currently), will require a badge or two to convince people that it is worthy of membership in the PCCA. Behold the prototype:

I decided that the prototype should be high-end since it's easier to trim budget than to pad it. I sourced a few 3" unfinished brass lamp bottoms from mylampsource.com at $3.23 each.IMG_20190502_143423

They are thin stamped brass with a hole for a wire in the middle should I decide that further illumination is needed.

Building on the work of the giants who have gone before me, I had a few 3" sticky-back transparent stickers made of the PCCACarlos05 image by stickylife.com.

Looks good enough for me. If any of you would like electronic copy of the engineering drawings, yeah well...IMG_20190502_143405

I fear that I may encounter hurdles in firmly attaching this badgling to the engine grill. The prototype is currently attaching with a wad of Juicy Fruit gum. If there are better ideas (Bubble Yum, Double Mint, etc), please let me know.

Enjoy!

Mike

Thanks, Mitch. I just used Juicy Fruit for the prototype but on Rennlist I've found a source in Ludwigsburg (just north of Stuttgart) of bespoke chewing gum pre-masticulated by pure bred German Shepherds. They claim a .0237 Mpa bonding strength when applied with .1mm thickness for the green gum and slightly less for the other chromatic variants. I saw no evidence of the so called "spearmint effect."

On the PCCA website, many suggest that I should over think it and then flip a coin. It should be obvious which approach I'll be taking!

Mike

So was Black Jack gum and Black Crow Gum drops until Political Correctness became fashionable.

Two things:

First, who buys candy at a fabric store? And second, what were you doing in a fabric store?

I was looking for fabric for clown pants...

Bob Evans is one rung down from Cracker Barrel. It’s the same overpriced comfort food (really? $12.50 for pancakes and eggs?), minus the prepackaged, chain restaurant faux country-kitch charm.

I’m a sucker for an honest to goodness small-town diner with Folgers coffee and plates that don’t match. Bonus points for decent biscuits and gravy.

If fake eggs are an option, I’m looking elsewhere.
