Has anyone ever converted a wide body to the traditional 356 Speedster? Not sure if it would be cost effective unless you obtained one at a reasonable cost such as some of these.
Only reasonable way would be to switch the entire body.
It's funny some say the classic body is worth more (on CMCs) but the flares do give you a better choice in wheels/tires. A local guy down here in Birmingham has a CMC project that he will most likely be putting up for sale (he's building an airplane!). It has some really neat customizatins on it. It has a added small flared wheel arches - even the front turn signals are raised off the body of the car. He not asking big bucks - suspect under $6k). It currently is stripped of paint and in gray primer. The engine is in bits but everything for entire car is there. Nice BBS wheels too. If anyone is interest I can put you in touch with him.
