I’m considering buying a CMC speedster here in Dallas. It has a hardtop now. However, it also comes with the soft top, sans bows and straps. Any idea where I can acquire them?

The CMC top needs the CMC bows, and they can't be purchased. You might find a used CMC top, but it might take a while.
If you need a soft top sooner rather than a maybe sometime, I'd buy a new top from Vintage Motorcars in Hawaiian Gardens CA. If you can't do the fitment yourself, I'm sure a local boat shop or upholsterer can help you.
I have a set of CMC bows in NW FL. CMC doesn't use any straps. You will need a fiberlass/plastic windshield header bow. If the top was ever mounted it will be glued to the top fabric.
I have Gordon's instructions for mounting a CMC top.
I have a new black composite windshield header bow for who ever buys Wolfgang's Steel bows.
Thank you gentlemen,
I’ll let you know once I see vehicle tomorrow.
@WOLFGANG, are you parting out your Speedster now?
Gentlemen thank you but I decided to pass on the CMC. Found a JPS subi speedster instead.
@Alan Merklin, I have not found the bows and header parts yet in the kit storage... would help to know what I'm looking for. Can you send me a photo of the header part?
Wolgang & Alan, I may need those items. I did find the top still in the CMC packaging. I'm still looking for the Hibachi grill too. Some things I have, some 'I cannot place my finger on at the moment'. I feel 98% certain I have seen the grill in the past, but I can't locate now. I do have the luggage rack, top, tonneau cover, carpets, wiring harness (still in packaging) and I'm finding the lights, etc... but have not seen the bows and header for the top.. 30+ years of storage is likely to lead to a few misplaced parts... but hopefully not irreplaceable parts.
