CMC with roll up windows?

CMC roll up windows were available as an option. " Wolfgang" has an old CMC ad for them.

Yeah I saw that, but I wanted to know more about it or if anyone has one...

The red Speedster in TX with the RX7 engine has then ($10k) - see classifieds. There is a white 959 on ebay in MA with them for $11,500 or so. It was a $995 option back in 1988. It wasn't add on it was option when purchasing body.

What do you think about the one with the RX7 engine. Is is a 6 cyl?

no

RX7 engines don't have cylinders! They are rotary wankel engines. Often said to be performance equivalent to an 8 cyl (LOL). They have chambers and rotors. RX7's have 4 rotors. It's reasonably priced for having the mod done. Rotary reve like crazy, guzzle gas, get real hot (cooling issues), few moving parts but overhaul cost high. Would be unique vehicle though with totally different engine sound.

Sorry Wolfgang, but RX-7s have two rotors. With 3 chambers for each rotor, that's sort of the equivalent to a small displacement 6-cylinder - at least in hp. Torque, not so much.

As far as I know, no 4-rotor wankel has ever been produced in any numbers, although prototypes have been made.

In checking the 13 series engine has 2 rotors, the 20 series 3, and the latest 16x back to 2 and 26B in sports prototype 4. Article on the 2011 RX series said it may be last year for rotary - too costly for small volume of sales.

Yeah, and as far as having performance better than a V8 - absolutely correctomundo. RX-8's were wiping up at the Rolex this past Spring. Nothing could touch them for a couple of hundred laps.

Plus, they sound mucho hairy as they thunder past the stands.
