We had perhaps the nicest Fall in recent memory; a bit of rain but tons of sunny mild days. So this is a cruel trick for mid November. Warmer weather on the way though so this will mercilessly melt again but cruising days are over in the north.

Yeah.  We really got a dump up here, and I still have a lot to do for winter.  We certainly did not expect this amount of snow this early.  Some will melt, but perhaps not all.

And I've just been told my new wheels are finished...

We're gonna need pics, Bob, even before they're on the car!

Cool shot @OverKILLLL Bob!

PS- I'm not envying you, @Stan Galat!

And yeah, I don't think I've ever had to suffer through the 113th day of January. That does sound brutal. I can only remember 1 serious ice storm in (relatively) recent memory- 22? 25 years ago? As much as I complain about the weather here on the Wet Coast, it really is pretty great place to live (when it's not raining!). I was out yesterday running some errands and the remote thermometer on my (new to me) FJ Cruiser showed 53 and 54° F in the middle of the afternoon (and it wasn't raining!). I'll shut up now... Al

@Jim Gilbert - Madison, Mississippi- as great as it sounds where you are, except for maybe a visit (at which point I'll have to agree with you that it is a wonderful place!) I think we'll be staying up here. Roots, family, being on this side of the border- that kind of stuff. Besides, if we all came down there, it would no longer be the great place you remember...

Poor ol' Lane has been suffering through heat indices of over 100º F all summer long with 8,000% humidity (and that's not really fit for Man nor Beast.  His Dachshunds don't even like it).  That has lasted until a few weeks ago, according to another friend of mine in Charleston, when it got nice for the past couple of weeks.  Supposed to be a really nice low 70's all day, today.

Nice, huh?

And then.........

Tonight, when everyone is sleeping, "The Revenge of the Canadians" descends upon Charleston and both Lane and my friend Donna are gonna wake up to:

(Brrrr!)     32º F!

And it'll struggle to get to the 50's - 60's, daytime, all week!

Welcome to Winter, Lane!

Not that anybody cares, but it's a balmy 80ºF in Nassau in the Bahamas all week.

Yippie-skippy.

YIKES....7 degrees@Stan Galat

7% is what our relative humidity in SoCal has been hovering around for the past few days (re: fires in certain areas of CA.)

The attraction of living in California has eroded tremendously over the years. With what has become a single-party government, an over-reaching 'Nanny' state, constantly increasing taxes to fund bogus projects (a bullet train folly), rapidly deteriorating infrastructure,  always the highest gas prices in the country (currently @ $4.75) due to the cost of refining the 'Special Fuel Mix' required in CA. & superfluous fuel taxes that are never used as intended, blah blah blah....

That being said, during the 'winter' it's nice to be able to leave the local mountains after a weekend playing in the snow...DSCN0734_2DSCN0749

... and 3 hours later, be doing this...IMG_20191102_124439

Thanks for the compliment!

I have been waiting forever to get the car on the road.  I am glad that it has brought some fun into the world.  Some young people look...  but 100% of all guys my age and up give me a thumbs up or hurt their neck trying to figure out what this is am I am driving by

There's 10 straight days of plus temps coming starting Sunday-Monday. Could be low 40's for a couple of days in there.....it will all melt. I need to do my raking at the cottage and put patio furniture away here!

@OverKILLLL Bob I must say that last shot is very artsy...a lot of texture. My pics usually are back-dropped by my 15 yr old Camry or my green yard waste trash can ...

I have a bunch of those photos too.

I am 49 years old, just started an Instagram account to try and create a tribute to my Dad's car.  So I have been trying to take nice pictures (like the one you commented on) to share on that IG account.  I am getting an education on how social media works... and it still confuses me!
