Has anyone ever customized their dash other than adding the lower valance for extra gauges or a/c vents? I think it look awesome with a pre a dash and an original telefunken radio, obviously extremely pricey for the parts but I was curious if anyone tried any other dash like an original a dash or even a cool pre 67 bus dash.

Yup, that a late Pre-A, it has the two smaller gauges to the far right.

I have a perfect example of that dash, if anyone is super serious, I could make a fiberglass copy, but . . . .

Here are a few pics of one that I recently sold, kitted out with cheapo Beetle and 914 bits and pieces:

I picked up a Deluxe Split Window Bus dash for the 356SC that I had, but sold the car before I could get the dash into it. The elegance of that Bus dash is beautiful, and it's a sweet as-is fit in a Ghia.
that dash is beautiful, I'm surprised whoever bought it went with the non-period gauges caus in that dash they look out a place, its a really nice layout but good point it definitely is not the sparce look as a speedster but I love it, how tough is the match to a speedster do ya know? And did you ever try an early bus dash in a speedster in a ghis I can imagine it look awesome
do you know if theres a repro of the radio surround, it'd be cool to use the surround and an original radio but instead of using a speaker to fill the hole put a nice grill badge in its place, I have a nice selection of ralley badges that are many different sizes, I think it'd look great! And now for a really stupid question, when fitting the dash do you cut the original dash out first or go over the existing dash, sorry to be so dumb about it
