Please remember, that "Speedsters Meet Spyders (and MGs and Others) at Carlisle" is a low-budget event that relies on you to help fund it in the form of the Saturday evening Raffle.  You may donate anything you wish (we won't turn down Booze, for instance), but we do hope for some sort of a Car/Speedster/Spyder/MGTD tie-in either with accessories, parts, clothing, posters/art or tools that will be attractive to other Speedster/Spyder/MGTD owners.  Be Creative!!

So what do you have kicking around the house or shop, that someone else might cherish that you could donate?  In the past, we've had fog lights, floor mats, breather boxes, a set of Carburetors, bottle jacks, lots of car-themed Hawaiian shirts, lots of Porsche Posters, headlights grills, lots of rare grill badges, lots of tools and even the odd bottle of Oban Scotch or wine or specialty beers (and even collector Beer mugs!!) and a whole lot more!

You must have something you want to part with that would be welcomed by someone else AND can help us pay for the event. Personally, after 14 years I'm getting tapped out for Speedster parts, but I have some cool duplicate tools from merging my two houses and might bring some of those along (angle grinders are always popular, right?)

So BRING YOUR STUFF FOR THE RAFFLE!

Done Deal !     I just sent Jeni Drake a set of my sun visors and one of my new front license plate holders. When you install this holder on your front bumper it allows you to remove and replace your lic. plate in seconds, thus allowing you to drive legally where ever you're going and then remove it so your car looks clean and simple while on display. It's water sealed and mechanically/magnetically secure. Here's a few photos. Retail value of these two items is close to $220.00.

Thanks to the Drake's for delivering them for your raffle at Carlisle. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

I'm looking forward to our West Coast Cruise next month........West Coast Bruce

Twice. We will put it there twice.

And, if it’s still there when the raffle’s over, we’re going to figure out where the frunk latch is in Chris’ 996, then hide it under some spare parts!

I STILL HAVE A WORKING USERNAME HERE, @Cory Drake!

I'm also working on a few raffle additions.  By the way, what this really means is I have a rough idea, and I'm trying to bribe my wife into firing up her various craft machines that I cannot for the life of me figure out how the hell they work because they probably work using the same black voodoo magic carburetors do, to execute said rough idea.

Should work out stellar.

I have acquired a sampling of local favorites from The Brewer's Art. I used to live a block away from this joint and miss the hell out of it. They specialize in Belgian style Trappist dubbel and tripel ales. Think malts, not hops.

I'm pretty sure we'd get along just fine, Ed.

Beer (IMHO) is always better to me when it tastes like somebody was in love with malt, and leaves you feeling like you ate a loaf of bread after a growler. I'm 100% off carbs right now (blood sugar deal), but the hyper-hoppy IPA all the kids rave about tastes like pure swill to me anyhow.

Mega hops are overdone in this age. I've always liked a classic IPA though, like Ballantine believe it or not. We used to get drunk and try to decipher the riddles on the underside of the bottle caps.

Anything with a good balance(hops/malt/alcohol level) under 8% is usually OK with me.

I enjoy ANY GOOD beer though. Have you guys ever tried Ommegang? Trappist ales made in Cooperstown, NY(same town as Baseball Hall of Fame). They are most excellent. So good, in fact, that the Belgians(Duvel I think) bought them out and raised the prices. I used to get a large bottle(32 oz.) for $3.50 in the grocery. Now they're hovering around 10 bucks.

From beermenu.com:

"First introduced in America in the late 1800’s Ballantine IPA was a beer for connoisseurs. It has been credited as an inspirational influence for the present day craft beer revolution in America. Handcrafted by our master brewers, this delightfully hoppy brew resurrects its deep heritage and storied past to embody an IPA worthy of the original Ballantine name. For well over a century the interlocking Borromeran Rings showcased on our label have come to signify Purity, Body, & Flavor, just like the delicious Ballantine IPAinside. We hope you enjoy it."
