My youngest daughter is getting married in May and wants the wedding invitations to include an outline drawing of a speedster rear end. I thought I saw something somewhere in the forum, but I'll be darned if I can find it OR REMEMBER where! Anyone have something available? Thanks, Cal
Cal, I'd be happy to help you out. You've been here a good long time and been a friend to everybody.
What kind of printing deadline are you on? I'll be breaking out the pens again for Carlisle as soon as we've settled into our new house -- maybe in a couple weeks I could have something nice to mail to you.
Give me some color ideas to work with, and I'll put you on the list. Some of these guys here have examples of the Speedsters and Spyders I've done in the past.
Jack, you're too kind. If one of my drawings wound up on an SOC calendar, I'd owe everybody who bought one a month in one way or another. I'm not sure that'd be a good idea. ;)

Ron, any of the above artwork is more elegant than the kind of drawings I usually do.
I tend toward colorized pen-and-ink, but the offer's there. Here's an example:

I am blown away with the talent here on this site! Whew! (Most accountants, of which I am one, have that side of their brain eaten away by debits, credits and tax schedules....)

Corey, I would welcome one of your drawings in the future when you get settled. I have very little to trade in return except maybe a Vintage Speedster bra, a piece of faux antique luggage without travel stickers, or tax return preparation! However, don't you prefer pies?

Thom, your drawing is exactly what she was looking for... I think she'll ask a friend to add the heads of a groom and bride, some cans and shoes hanging off the back, and fill in the license plate that says "JUST MARRIED". (She doesn't realize that I just purchased an Oklahoma replica plate saying just that for the auspicious day.)

Thanks to everyone for contributing and giving me the ideas and photos. (I had completely forgotten about the blueprint file and the brochure!)

One last word for Thom, I'll send you a PM to get permission to use your drawing as a basis for the invitation.

Once again, thanks folks!

Best regards,
Cal
Cory, the wedding plans continue to gain momentum. However, the hormonal imbalances in the household rose a lot faster. Daughter and mother were constantly at odds - the former is a free spirit and has a "wouldn't it be neat if we did/had this?" thought process while the latter is a stolid traditionalist and wants to follow the book.

I think Carol finally broke when they were selecting centerpieces for the reception tables at a friend's design shop. Carol left the store mid-visit and ended up sitting in the car sobbing and nearly hysterical. Only after her friend came out and promised everything would be "all right" (and offered a glass of wine later on) did she calm down. From that point forward, it's like Carol's on a cocktail of ambien and valium. Her eyes maintain a blank stare and she sort of smiles and says "that's nice, dear" whenever the wedding arrangements are discussed.

I passed along some really nice drawings, but we haven't seen the invitations yet. The last we heard was that the color scheme selected was aqua and bright red, and it matches her wedding dress...!

Does anyone know of a good sanitarium?
First picture of the wedding available (with the car in it). I think it was taken with a phone..... Kids get back from their honeymoon around the 19th, the same day the photographer's efforts will be available. (Will have to buy the rights to the pictures before I can post any of those.) Best regards, Cal
