Well, from what I read here and from advice from others including the doctor Im priced to high. The engine I have been told is worth $7 to $8,000 and most cars I see compared to mine are running from $11 to $17+.

So, here's the deal I can't part this car out nor remove the 356 B engine and put another in. This was my husbands car sure I enjoyed driving it but gentlemen I don't need three cars and a motorcycle. Don't know how to work on this car, would rather sink the money into my VW Bus, something I can use.

If you like the looks think you want to make her your toy, see she needs this or that for that real deal look......make me an offer.

Car is out of the shop alignment, new inspection, had a back up light fixed, raised back up. Had a good drive home, funny how you get behind the wheel of a speedster you just can't keep your foot out of it. Engine appraised at $8 to $10 so I feel $18,000 is fair. Doc sure it sounds great to take this engine out and another in $ don't permitt that at this time and besides I have 2 other cars just need to sell this one. After driving her yesterday it makes that a tough one but it is still for sell.
Thanks
Judy
Judy, I agree with Alan. Have the motor pulled(very cheap) and sell it on the Samba or ebay. Then take a small amount from that, buy a 1776, have it installed and sell the car. Although I am sure it is a beautiful car the way it is, the chance of finding the right buyer that shares your husband's vision is not very likely. If you really want to sell the car, you may have to sell the motor separately. I think in the long run you'll end up with more money than selling the car as is.
Thank you Dr. Evil and friends for the insite just can't go there. On that note there is a gentleman from Nuemburg who has been very serious I believe it is a matter of how to register it in Germany. So, I am waiting for his reply at this time, have had lookers and ooh ahhers which that's okay to.

Can't say I haven't enjoyed driving it just have to watch my foot. If she sells I will be happy if she doesn't I'm still happy who wouldn't be it's a Fa'Porsche.
I live out side of Reading and will be moving the car tomorrow to a friends garage. I am in the thick of a re-model so car is under cover, I don't like leaving it covered in the drive it has never been left out always garage kept.

I find it interesting about the engine change, do you guys carry thousands for new engines? Sure it might be the right choice for you but I just don't have those kind of funds. now that the car has been repaired I have been driving it. Spent quite a lot to put it on the road which I am not looking to re-coop. Now if you boys are so dead set on putting a 1776 in my car come on over but I don't have that kind of money or able to do this job. My money went for the care of my husband.

So, bottom line if your interested buy the car if you think another engine would be the ticket and sell the '63 356 B would you not be the better for it? Do the math gentleman bought for $15,000 asking $18,ooo engine appraised at $8000 to $10,000. So wouldn't that make my car a $10,ooo ride? You get the $8000 or more for the engine use that to purchase your 1776 and install it in that cooshy garage with all your tools.
