Haven't posted here in quite some time, not since the change in format. Does JPS still hang out here?

Spent the day at Dunkels with my 912:

I saw JPS' Speedster:

If JPS is around, I'm interested in the license plate. Do you get any trouble by the DMV / CHP for it? Where did you have it done?

Thanks,

~Brad

John,

I ordered a CA yellow plate with black letters (I already reserved/ordered the CA DMV plate with the same letters/numbers too). Do you think the yellow plate will be a problem with cops? Or if I might get pulled over? I plan to use my Speedster as an everyday driver.

Isn't there a frame holder that provides room for registration tags? The yellow plate has a "two digit year" stamped on the plate where you normally put the tags, would hate to cover the stamp.

What would you say if you every get pulled over, about the plates?

David
I believe there are "tabs" that stick up above your license plate frame to hold your stickers on a 56 CA Yellow plate. I've seen pics (on this site, I think?), but can't find one now to illustrate.
If I'm ever stopped, I'm just going to tell the cop the truth...I own the configuration SPDST; the car is a replica; the plate is a replica plate. I figure at worst I'll have to ditch the Black plate and revert to the White one. I'd bet most cops would appreciate the car and let it go at that...provided I wasn't stopped for going 85 in a 55 zone...not that I would...
Dick,
If you live in CA and want classic CA plates from Euro-Sign, just have a friend/relative from outside California order them for you. I'm sure the Euro-Sign people are just playing it safe so Gov. Davis doesn't sue them out of business. I'd bet they know lots of their plates wind up on CA cars.

Bradley,
Although my SPDST is not my daily driver, I do drive it a lot. Had it since June; already put on 3800 miles.
