Danny I think I can confidently speak for all on here when I say Please Chassis Dyno this setup, tune there and report RWHP and torque numbers here.

My prediction is still what it was (and what you're already starting to feel): your peak HP will go up a little but your torque curve is going up a lot over a long stretch of useable RPMs above and below your peak.

It's going to make you care less about gear spacing.

Unreliable rumors have it that a certain benevolent despot with a wont for bold tinkering has been looking at this Speeduino menu 😀Capture

We may (or may not) have considered this at one time here in the People's Republic, but saner heads prevailed and we went a different direction. Pity that.

Not that I've thought about it or anything... but if I gave a Type 1 a NOS shot, I'm pretty sure I'd keep as much as possible analog. I'd do digital spark for sure (with some spark retard when on the bottle) - but there's just too many layers of complexity for me with N2O to even think about EFI. Old dog an all that.

But I've always thought a nice, stout T4, twin-plugged, dry-sumped with a mildish (82b or the like) cam and a 50 or 100 shot spray down the 48s would be pretty freaking impressive. It would also need H2O injection for sure - you'd probably trigger that with the spark retard.

My problem would be keeping my thumb off the button.

I'm with you guys. I've had my over boosted turbo and supercharger fun. 1776cc of normally aspirated goodness is just my speed.

NO2 would be a challenge and I like the thrill of the on/off acceleration profile, but I suspect Marianne would prefer keeping the space for the AC. I'm still building her trust in a car that was built in a tent.

I know what you mean my son had an aversion for my car at first with all the sorting we had to do.

Built in a tent or not, I'm not sure we ever achieve trust. Tolerance may be the best we can hope for.

Trust implies a certain steady state - there's a permanence to it. It's something in the bank we can draw against.

Tolerance is an uneasy truce that can be broken at any time.

And it doesn't take much. An unscheduled ride through a hailstorm. Losing one's oil to a manhole cover. Needing a new engine at an untimely time.

Trust is a worthwhile goal - like achieving world peace or finding all of one's socks in the dryer, but I'm learning to be content with tolerance and take life as it comes.

Au contraire, Mitch. Here we are, patiently waiting for the arrival of Ron and Maddie Mullis in their ERV(self-titled emergency response vehicle) on the I-81 off-ramp.

Carlisle 2018. Lesson learned: replace $2.50 mainshaft circlip on trans. It's not re-usable. Michelle patiently waiting, didn't get pissed at all.20190517_103301_HDR

These things happen. First time with this car.

What really intrigues me, is that someone is sitting around somewhere, writing the software for this stuff.

Gordon, Speeduino has capability of controlling NOS, turbo boost, water/methanol injection, launch control, flat shift, gear detection, and variable valve timing. They even have a CANBUS to a display or another CPU. I believe knock detection is being worked on currently.

But yeah, certainly stuff above my pay grade.

.

Danny, I can't say for certain, but I have a hunch you haven't heard the last of that little roadside incident.

These things are like shifting tectonic plates. They can lie dormant for years. On the surface, all seems well.

But, tread lightly and be careful to remember all anniversaries and significant dates.

Often, for want of a mainshaft circlip, all may be lost.

@DannyP how much roses 🌹 did you give the wife for that 😎

@Sacto Mitch @calmotion Michelle isn't like that. I mean, all women are sisters, but she doesn't harbor and hold things like some I've known.

This incident never gets mentioned, and it's been 2 years(it was 2019 I checked the date stamp on the photo). She might have been perturbed if we had cars whizzing by a foot away at 70mph, but it didn't happen that way. The trans popped out of gear when I attempted to downshift on the off-ramp. It wouldn't go back in. I shut it down and pulled over.

I randomly buy her flowers just because I feel like it now and again, never to make up for something or apologize.
