Well... it depends where the gas tank inlet is located...some designs have the inlet offset to the driver side... all depend on the manufacturer of the gas tank.

Now if you have a centered gas tank inlet, pay attention on the measurements ...it is somewhat tolerant for a minor deviation. Check with the company that produced the car.... they will need year of production and tank source... if it is a tank supplied with the car they will have the data that you need.

I do not have any recommendations on how to cut the hole...it is fiberglass and requires special procedures... Good luck... from Texas ...Alberto
Do you want it in the same location as the original factory cars? If so, scale from photos; make the hole then locate fuel filler on the tank accordingly.
If you are using a VW fuel tank, the filler neck attaches where the stock fuel level sending unit is located, in the recessed center of the tank. Dry fit your tank & filler neck; use the neck to mark the underside of the hood; start small and enlarge as needed.
