A Porsche 356 club, an organized group of 43 356 model Porsches in the Knoxville/Maryville area, is having a run to Bald River Falls on September 22nd in honor of Ferdinand's birthday. I have been in contact with the group leader, and he stated that replicas as well as originals are welcome. The rallying point is at Panera Bread, 4855 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, at 1:00 P.M. After lunch, the drive will proceed to Bald River Falls, with stops for regrouping and photo ops. The total one way distance will be approximately 75 miles through mostly winding country backroads; This is by design.
Come one, come all.

I remember a stand up comedienne asking her audience, "do you know how to make God laugh?........make plans." The run was cancelled at the rallying point when only four cars (my Speedster and three coupes) showed up and it was pouring rain. This event has been rescheduled for next Sunday, September 29th, at a gathering place to be determined. If you are in the area and interested, please e-mail me later in the week and I will find out where the meeting place will be and let you know.
Thanks.

2000 VS
ps. Speedsters do leak rather well. This was my first experience. I had the 'wet badge of courage' on my left shoulder and my sweet bride had the same on her right.

Rescheduled again. The run will now take place on Saturday, October 5th rallying at the Tellico Dam overlook at 11:00 A.M. Members and guests of the Knoxville Porsche club will proceed to Tellico Plains for a lunch stop and tire kicking, being joined by a Porsche club from Atlanta. After lunch, the two clubs will take a scenic drive on the Cherohala skyway stopping for Photo ops at the second overlook. At this point, the two clubs will part and head for home. I hope the weather cooperates this time.
