I am curious as to why their seats are so expensive.   If my memory serves me right I think  @Stan Galat has a set in his Speedster.  http://www.fibersteel.com/#!or...speedster-seats/cu5f

VERY even pattern in the fiber matt.

Oh, wait!  That stuff is woven on a mechanical loom!   And here is Dow-Corning's (Yuuuuge!) mill in Cumberland, RI where that stuff is woven - This place once was the largest fiberglass and Carbon Fiber mat production plant in the world and follows the Blackstone River for almost half a mile.  Fragmented glass or raw carbon went in one end of the plant and finished, woven matt went out the other.  Photo taken this morning from the Rhode Island Bike Path:

Corning plant

1/4 of the plant used to make fiber matt products and the other 3/4'ths made Pink Fiberglass building insulation (The Pink Panther stuff).

Oh, and $4.2 GRAND for a pair of heated leather seats is....ridiculous.

Special Edition in Bremen, IN is doing the carbon fiber shells shown above for $750 per seat, raw. (SPECIAL DISCOUNT for SOC members if you contact Carey directly, I am told) They are slightly lower than the standard Speedster seat for guys who are just a bit taller and want a bit more head room, but the difference is not discernable.

The bolsters are slightly different and were modified, but there is no difference in the seat bottom or back, so standard foam can be used with standard speedster seat covers.

Below is my seat for my 1956 Carrera GT  steel bodied 356. The covers are a kit from Autos Intl. Bill, Carey's in house guy, got these together really well without much of a problem.

Here's a picture of me with Carey and Stan G, watching Carey's upholsterer, Bill, do his magic...
