When going thru my photos this morning I found this little item. Its a "collar that is epoxied around the gas tank filler neck to catch any dripping from the fuel nozzle when you refuel.  It's made of brass so there's no spark potential and has a drain that directs any spillage thru a hose to the ground outside the car.  I still have the pattern if anyone wants to make themselves one............Bruce

This ain't as purdy, Bruce, but it's a lot easier to rig up and it will catch drips that were headed for your paint, too.

It's a towel with a hole in it that just fits around the filler neck. My wife sewed a hem (or something) around the hole to keep it from unraveling.

Deployed when filling, stowed otherwise.

You can also wipe your hands on it if you've been eating fish tacos or chili dogs. Toss in the washing machine every 3000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first.

100% gluten free.

Yah, but Michael, you don't live in SoCal where things need to be shiny and "trick" ! There's even a little charcoal filled catch canister at the other end of the hose so that the spillage doesn't pollute our air out here.  I keep a little white lace doily in the frunk to tidy up of my other indiscretions.  Of course this stored in it's own cloisonné box with a deactivated charcoal liner. This is just a Must-Have out here !............Bruce

PS.  We have sequined latex gloves out here for those of us who must refuel our Diesel powered conveyances at a........"self-serve station".
