It was about a high of 52 degrees and overcast. I put on my sock hat unzipped half the tonneau and took off.

1) Excellent off the line. Very easy to miss second with the beck shifter setup. 2nd is a bitch; I need Jomar setup. I love the power band in third.

2) The cherry bomb exhaust is awesome with the 2165cc motor. Some probably don't like, but I don't mind. The locals can tell it is a hell of a lot more than some borla mufflers ordered out of a catalog. I love being in the country, actually Ford country if you get my drift. They aren't digging the 550 Spyder. Who cares!!!

3) Speedo seems to be off by about 20mph. 80mph on the speedo is probably about 60mph etc. Has anyone else experienced the same difference? The speedo jerks around like the MGB I had. The tach reading seems very correct as does the fuel gauge. The temp gauge barely moved. I believe it is accurate; it was a 50 degree day.

4) I ran 28psi in the front and back. It felt good. I didn't hit any monster pot holes, and it wasn't a hot day. I'll adjust accordingly.

5) The looks are awesome. People look in amazement, especially when they hear it.

Is there anything I need to check or do with my Beck? I'm going to adjust the valves in the next couple of weeks. It has a 100 miles on it. Can you suggest anything Larry, Mike, Bert, Vicki, Terry.

I'm going for another ride!

Tony--yay!! I'm so proud! Wasn't it the MOST FUN!??
I would say, just change the oil and adjust the valves at about 2000 or 3000 kilometers. And change the oil filters. Mine were rife with particles. I've had one other oil change and inspection and it runs like nothing I've ever experienced, except for my present boyfriend, Dave. ha

Keep updating on your rides. v v
It is an honest mistake. Hey - with the noise and the rush of adrenaline - it feels like we are going faster!

I just do the math at roughly .6 => 100 km = ~60, 80 km = ~50 etc. (which is pontless here in So Cal because everyone does 140 km everywhere).

MPH speedos are fewer and far between.

Have fun!

Mike
