Amazingly it looked like it had been changed routinely every 5,000 miles (30wt oil). I can't explain it other than that I drove it often and in various road conditions in weather 50 to 85 degrees; boulevard cruising, at highway speeds (70-75mph) on extended trips, occasional highway blasts at 80mph, errands around town, etc..
Every 15,000 mile or so I would change out the external oil filter and top off the oil afterwards. Dumb luck, I guess! Or more likely blissful ignorance...
The only time my Speedster is not for sale is when it is in a friend's garage for 5 months during the Winter. She is coming out of storage next week and will be for sale everyday that I am not enjoying driving her. This makes 9 years of madness for me. Although the insanity seems to diminish when I am behind the wheel. I would be afraid to ever add up the receipts. That would be like tallying up what it cost to put your kids through College. I know it was worth it, but it is better I do not know.
I do think that CRM's price was a little on the high side, but not really by all that much. This will be a very interesting year for used Speedster prices and I'm going to make a prediction about that, but in another thread so it doesn't get buried in this one.

That was quick, he changes his mind quicker than I do. A good PPI would help in deciding if it is fully sorted out after that whopping 200 miles. Maybe since it was THE last one, maybe it got inspected properly and not given the “send me the bill” warranty treatment that many others got.
