I am considering selling the car for exactly what I have into it.  Not selling a 200,000 mile pile of junk, this is a car in better than new condition.  Thanks for the input.

A possible lingering issue is that folks willing to spend $37,500 on a used VS can order exactly what they would like: color/options/etc. for SAME MONEY.....you might have $37.5K into it but common sense suggests that you are NOT likely, especially amongst these very "LEARNED/KNOWLEDGEABLE" gentlemen, to get much beyond 30K(and that itself will be a challenge).

How often does a used car sell for what the first buyer paid for it? Unless it is an extraordinary, limited number exotic(Porsche Turbo/Ferrari/BMX Z8), you are in for a big disappointment although you might get lucky.

Nobody is suggesting that it is a 200K mile piece of junk but there are low mileage VS cars for 12 to 15K less that are available and crisply sorted. Wishing you good luck on your sale but this forum is funded with savvy enthusiasts(not me of course) and their comments above are sound

Speedsters do retain a specific value depending on mileage, color, engine etc. the actual year built as long as it is somewhat recent does't seen to go against value.  A used factory built IM Beck or VS will miles on it will drop by 20 -25% and lever off at that value. That's not really all that bad if purchasing used as you can almost always get your initial investment back. New you get it exactly your way where as used you settle with what is available similar to your personal want list. It's the sellers preference to ask the whole ball of wax as to what they have into a new recent purchase but we all know that is unlikely to happen.

@Banzai Pipeline. A bird in hand.

@CRM good luck with the sale.

I’ve been trying to figure out for the past 15 months that I’ve been active on this site why we choose to cut down other members’ cars and/or asking prices.  I’m assuming 90%+ of those active on this site have a speedster or spyder.

Shouldn’t we wish the best for our fellow supporting members and their sales?  I’m hoping CRM gets $50,010, or $1 over the tufted wonder [just to show a steady climb in value  :-)].

.....once the weather starts getting warm, people will start itching for a fun car.  You can buy CRM’s now, or save a few bucks (maybe?) and build your own—just in time for the end of summer

Yours is such a beautiful car and you've managed to sort-out the issues some of us who also bought VS Speedsters had to cope with soon after ours was delivered.

Since mine arrived back in August 2016 I've still got a couple to correct but the car gives me such a rush every time I drive it the very idea of selling it has never crossed my mind.

Any chance you might have second thoughts?

CRM,  some day you'll remember this fondly - not as that time you almost sold the Speedster, but as the first time you almost sold the Speedster.

This is really just a milestone, sort of. Get used to it. It's a part of owning these things.

Basically, if we're not smart enough to avoid buying a Speedster in the first place, we're probably not smart enough to ever admit our error and move on.

For better or worse, welcome to the madness.

On the flip side of the 'Madness' in the bizarro world of Musbjim (where less is more), my previous daily-driver VS, had 3 tune-ups, 4 oil-changes & two sets of tires in the process of logging 100,000 miles (161,000KM).

I'm just saying...

@CRM I don't think you'll regret keeping your Speedster! Here's wishing you MANY miles of top-down driving enjoyment!
