I just installed the recommended electric Carter fuel pump with metal filter before pump. Running dual dell 40's is it necessary to run the Holley 12-804 regulator. Since this is a low pressure pump--won't the carbs themselves manage the pressure? I installed the regulator but it doesn't seem to want to get me up to 3-3.5 psi by the reading on the Summit gauge. Can I eliminated the regulator and run straight to driver side banjo?

I have dual Dell 40's with no regulator. Plumbed directly from driver's side to passenger side. Been that way for over six years. No problem.

I did have a problem with a bad float, but nothing related to fuel pressure.

I don't think that Dell ever recommended inserting a regulator. In fact, I thought that they sold them at least partly on the fact that "you don't need no stinkin' regulator".

Perhaps I am incorrect but I am certain your question will draw some diverse opinions.
