I removed my tank so that I could replace the last bit of fuel line. The outlet pipe is the stock 6mm pipe. The fuel line clamped to it is 5/16". I do not like that. Since my fuel filter is also 5/16" I'd like to replace the outlet pipe with the same. CIP1 has them listed, but they're out of stock. Does anyone know of another source?

That'll be plan "B".  I'm going to flog the plan "A" horse a bit, first.

I'm not trying to get more flow, I just gotta have it a certain way. Or at least try.

I also had plans to get a buddy to move the drain location to get the last 3/4 gallon out of the tank, and shave the bump in the upper foot well, but decided not to for now.

Excise that scrotal intrusion, Carlos. If not now, when?

The problem with the AN adapter is the fuel outlet goes straight down and there is simply no room for it. Carlos would have to move the pickup on the tank for any of this to work. That would definitely be necessary if he was going to excise the hanging fruit in the way of his right foot.

CB's EFI adapter works because it is a T, making the hoses stay tight to the tank. I left my under-dash fiberglass stock.

I'm pretty sure 6AN is good to about 400 hp, and 5AN(5/16" or 8mm) is good to about 250 hp. While 5AN is rarely used, it does exist.

I didn’t realize the space was that tight under there. Good to know.

What @DannyP said. Unless I can get the exit nice and tight or move it down, I won't be able to totally remove it. Hmmmm, I do like that EFI fuel T from CB. That could be the ticket. We'll see.

Removing the tank was one of those, the tank is almost empty, it's cold out, and I need to replace that bit of hose anyway, things. Then it got more involved.

@LI-Rick It's very tight up there in a Spyder. That's one of the problems that Danny had figuring out how to fit his R&P steering in there.

I have to finish my new gauge install first.

To be continued....

So I found this at the local auto parts store. I had $20 reward on my account, so this was pretty much free. I thought I'd give it a try.

fuel d 1

I did some cutting and I had a buddy weld a washer onto it and it turned out like this.

fuel d 2

The part where the hose slips on is 5/16", the rest is 3/8". The nut needed to be drilled out but the mesh pre filter still fits.

fuel d 3

Now I have a little more room to play with. We'll see.....

That looks great, Carlos. You may have to drill the tank fitting for it to fit, but there's plenty of meat there, and no pressure. That should work.

I'm glad you found a brass mesh filter. I had used a white plastic one a long time ago. It disappeared over time, as in it MELTED like the Wicked Witch in gasohol! JUNK!

I have a huge metal pre-filter, then the EFI pump, then Subaru 8mm canister post-filter, so I'm good filter-wise.

Unless you are running E85 with a massive turbo, you've got plenty of flow with 5/16" line.
