Who's up for taking a Speedster contingent to this year's German Auto Fest in Ventura, CA Sept 14 & 15? (www.germanautofest.com) It was great last year - hundreds of Porsches of all models and eras.
It's not too soon to make plans to caravan from L.A. and Orange counties. With a couple of planned stops along the way to regroup we could all cruise the 101 North together. Saturday is the "People's Choice" competition...probably a better day to go than Sunday.

I will be going down to the German AutoFest and sent in an entry. So far according to Bob Campbell, the contact for information, I am the only entry in the replica class as of today. This is part of his note to me.
Explain to them that if you enter the Peoples Choice Concours, for a $40 entry fee, you get two admissions for both days, which alone is a $40 value. You also receive a ballot with which you vote for your favorite car in each class. Ballots are counted and after lunch there is a great awards ceremony with 'victory laps' for all award winners and great parking all weekend, plus five other terrific events! How ya gonna beat that?

If you have a way of spreading the word to more owners on and off the Internet, please be my guest. I will mail a color brochure to anybody that requests one. If there is something you feel I should do from this end, please let me know His email is: info@german-autofest.com (Bob Campbell)

For those of you who missed it, I've posted 60(!) photos of all the beautiful Speeders (along with a few other 356s) at:
infive.com/autofest
Enjoy!
And by the way...only four Replicas were there...too bad. Three of us entered the People's Choice Awards and Rich's red Intermeccanica took first in the Replica category! Congrats. I figure I came in no worse than third...or maybe Dale was third and I was second?!?!

John, Thanks for the photos. It was an amazing event!!. I have been to several Porsche Parades and this was by far the most cars I have seen in one place at one time. The variety was spectacular, from full restoration to the "just found this in a barn" look. It was also nice to have a "replica" class, it shows a little bit of acceptance, too bad there was not a bigger representation. John, red cars may show better but BLACK cars RULE!! Loved your car and the opportunity to chat with you was worth the drive from Sacramento.
We went back Sunday morning when the wacky full concourse guys were getting in place, the fog was creating all kinds of trouble for them. They could not keep the cars dry. Thanks again for the Photos, John, How did you get so many without all the people in the pictures? This should be a "must" event next year.
