What we drive are VW derivatives - even the tube frame replicas use VW front beams and transaxles/suspension and not much of that will fit a frame made for a real 356.  On top of that, original 356 cars had the body and frame integrated to a larger extent than a VW pan and body so that frame would be incompatible.

So yes, it looks like a decent deal, but it is also non-returnable once you buy it.  Big red flag, there.

It’s a tube frame for a replica. It looks identical to the one on the Kitman website, and since the item is located in San Diego it probably is the very one. 

I’m not sure what you were looking at, but this is absolutely for replica.

Yes it is. Do they do good work?

I want to pair it to this. I’m wanting to build a coupe. I’m just in the running the numbers phase-to see what I might be getting in too

Good deal or not, good frame or not, make sure you know EXACTLY what it costs to ship, and how much trouble it will be to ship.  I don't remember where he lives, but @Brock B  bought a coupe body in San Diego, paid for it, and then had a miserable time getting it shipped.  So miserable in fact, that he is now selling it and it is a coupe.  You may want to contact him about purchasing his build, or even just to find out what's up with shipping a non-drivable, rollable car from San Diego.

If that is one of Greg's coupes from Vintage Motorcars in Hawaiian Gardens, CA, I would buy the frame from Greg, so that you know it fits.

Looks like you are from OH , hell you could drive down and pick mine up cheaper than shipping it.

You should buy the frame from the same supplier of the body if your looking to build one to avoid body differences. 

Brock is selling his and he has a Kitman body put on a pan frame where he built a similar frame.  It is a roller now and could be shipped actually he is in NC so it would be easy enough to pick it up.  Not without effort but certainly not in Cali. 

BTW, he has done a lot of fitting and fine tuning of the body so it would be worth buying it in my opinion unless you have a vary different build in mind. 

He might even modify the roll cage I would think if you wanted some mods to it. 

Like @IaM-Ray said, "it is a roller now", which to my understanding makes it much easier, (read less expensive), to ship.

I just read about guys using Bed Liner that is tinted as a paint product for RV's trucks etc.   Bedliner  That would give it some patina  

Me?  I’m gonna stick to steering boxes and not get involved with subframes....
