A Happy Father's Day to all of my fellow SOC'ers.

After having a nice lunch with two kids I went home and got to smoking some ribs for dinner. I got three racks of baby back ribs on Saturday and put a dry rub on them , wrapped them, and put them in the fridge. After church today and before lunch I took the ribs out so they'd come to room temperature. Added some hickory chips and apple juice to the smoker and put them on for 2 hours while I went to lunch with my wife and kids. After I got back and the first 2 hours were done I took the ribs out of the smoker. I covered them in brown sugar and honey along with a half stick of butter then wrapped them in foil and put them back in the smoker for another 2 hours. When the time elapsed I took them out and covered two of the racks in my favorite sauce and put them back in the smoker for 1 more hour after refilling the apple juice.

My wife made some rice pilaf and along with a nice Cesar salad we had a very yummy dinner.

If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

Looks great.

We made banana splits with my Mom and Dad this afternoon on the outside patio of their retirement home, 104 degrees F with the humidity (bananas, neopolitan ice cream, chocolate or butterscotch sauce, Skor bits, mini Reeses Pieces, cashews, whipped cream, fresh strawberries and blueberries.....).

This evening, my kids were all here. BBQ nice strip loins, grilled asparagus, fresh green salad, Greek salad, good red wine.

Life is good.

I have no kids so I treated myself to two corn dogs from Der Weinersnitzel for $.50 with my fathers day Corn Dog Deal coupon I got in my junk mail.  Chased that down with some barley pop from Coors...........It was a good day !

Best Wishes to all of you who are or have Fathers !................Bruce

Bruce, you are the man !!  The only thing I would have done differently would be to sub one corn dog for a chili-cheese dog or two .........  Love it !!!

You can do everything the same and eliminate the brown sugar and honey so as to cut out the sugar. Wrapping in foil helps to separate the meat from the bone. You can use a sauce of your choice for the last part. Use your favorite dry rub prior to the first smoke for flavor.
