So - I noticed that my brights no longer work - the dash blue hi beam indicator still works when I pull the signal stalk - what can I check?

The VS has a separate fuse just for high beams so check that first.
Looking at the fuse panel (to the left and above your left knee when seated in the driver's seat) you will see 6 fuses. From left to right they are:
1. Brake lights
2. Lights, parking, dash, tail
3. Turn signals, ignition, radio
4. Horn & wipers
5. High beam headlights
6. Low beam headlights
Replace the #5 fuse and let us know how you make out.

Jack - fuse was good, but I re-seated the fuse and all good! thanks for your help.

Del.....If the fuse was "seated" when the problem occured, then magicly healed when you moved it,...I would replace the fuse anyway......I chased a problem for 6 hours that turned out to be a faulty fuse. (intermittent contact) Just my .02
