So as my last deal to purschase a 356 fell through. I did manage to find a Canadian 356. Owner doesn't know much about it. He thinks its a Interrmeccanica... These are all the picture i have at this point.. Not the clearest but I'm still digging for more. any help would be great. He is asking $17,000 Canadian .

It's really rough from the pics. If it's a intermeccanica, at least one of the rear deck lid hinges will be read intermeccanica.

There should be remnants of the IM id sticker in the passengers door opening too. Here's photo of cast hinges Theron mentioned.
Whoa - what's with that dash? It will need new $2k interior for sure.
I'd go for the Speed Yellow Ferrari parked behind it!
I've said before that I don't know a lot of the nuances between Speedster manufacturers, but I've never seen an IM with a dash or door panels like that.
There should be a manufacturer's plate in the driver's doorway, Damon; see if the seller will send a pic of it.
That's an original VW steering wheel as well. I'd be surprised if that were an IM, but I suppose it is possible.
I'd pass one that garage build!

It does look like a very rough build, that will most likely require a lot of work to make it what you want it to be.

You'd have to get that for A LOT LESS than $17K Canadian to make it worthwhile. Depending on the manufacturer and whether or not it's a home built project, it'd have to be less than $10K Canadian to make it worthwhile.
I tend to agree with Robert. That said, I've lost my ability to properly value speedsters these days.
Well after going back and forth with the current owner i have come to realize this is not the car for me. Its definitely not and IM. totally fine with any make, but this one needs way to much work and things just don't seem to add up with the car and guy selling it...like BOB said patience haha . I will continue on my hunt. I would like to thank all of you for helping with all your replies. I very much appreciate all you insight and knowledge.

You made the right move there, Damon. I'll keep an eye out on the Eastern front. They do come up now and then. A decent one from Gatineau, QC could have been had for about $7K CAD a couple of years ago but I had no room / time for it. It went to the Niagara region and I've not heard about it since.

Try to be patient. I'm not good at that but I did manage to buy a decent and basic older runner in Boise, Idaho in 2010 for $6,500 US. Bone stock 1600 engine but good enough to drive across the USA to Ottawa where I've been working on it for a while.
I too will keep my eyes open for a Speedster in this area. It's difficult when there are not that many around, but they do come up for sale once in a while.
I do see them on Auto Trader sometimes.
